Journey To Iona

Iona has been a place of pilgrimage from the time of St. Columba to the present day. Those who journey to Duncraig follow in the footsteps of countless ancient, medieval and modern pilgrims. For many the journey is part of the retreat experience.

Directions From Edinburgh there is a train every 30 minutes to Glasgow.

From Glasgow (Queen Street Station) trains leave twice a day Monday - Saturday and arrive in Oban for the 12 noon and 4pm ferry to Craignure on the Isle of Mull.

The train station in Oban is next to the ferry terminal. For ferry information visit Caledonian MacBrayne and for trains information visit ScotRail.

There is a connecting bus from Craignure to Fionnphort where the ferry to Iona leaves regularly.

Visitors from overseas can fly to Glasgow direct or through London or Manchester, where frequent flights connect to Glasgow. There are many good hotels/B&B's near the train station in Glasgow and ferry terminal in Oban should you wish to break your journey.

Duncraig exists to provide a welcoming yet pleasantly quiet atmosphere which offers both privacy and fellowship whilst respecting the freedom and spiritual needs of each individual.
